Sulb Cafe @ Simpang Kuala, Alor Setar, Kedah

Sulb opened its doors on the easy-to-remember date of 3 March 2022, has quickly risen through the ranks, and appeared as one of the most popular cafes in Alor Setar. The cafe adopts minimalist interior decor in shades of grey and white, with pebble stone flooring, polished cement seats, and tall trees to make the space even more charming and comfy. It makes me feel that I've returned to one of the popular cafes in Penang - Norm Micro. The foods offered here are quite attractive as those foods are rare to be seen in Alor Setar. Such as Egg Benedict, Croque Madame, Turkish Egg, Beef Quesadillas, Wiener Schnitzel, Chicken Cacciatore, and so on. Prices may be on the high side and wait times will be longer but given the cozy atmosphere and attractive menu, the place is worth checking out.

Xiao Man Dumpling & Noodle 小嫚饺子馆 @ Alor Setar, Kedah

Located at Jalan Kuala Kedah, right beside Black Whale Milk Tea, Xiao Man Dumpling & Noodle 小嫚饺子馆 is a restaurant that specialised in dumplings and noodles. Apart from that, Xiao Man Dumpling & Noodles also serve a wide variety of Taiwan local foods and snacks, such as Taiwanese Egg Rolls, Scallion Pancake, Gua Pao, Hsinchu Fried Rice Vermicelli, Taiwanese Shaved Ice, Milk Tea and so on. With its wide variety of choices, I thought it would be a great spot for me to satisfy my craving for Taiwanese foods at first, however, it disappointed us during our first visit. In spite of that, I decided to try it again so that I can make a more fair food review for its foods.

In Alor Setar, there are not many pizza outlets in town. For Alor Setarian, mention pizza, most likely Pizza Hut and Domino will come to mind. Hence, US Pizza has gained a lot of attention when it started its business in Alor Setar. Located at Ampang Business Centre, US Pizza serves an array of delectable American Pizza in store.

Taiwan Famous Taro Cheesecake by Summer Dessert Bakery @ Alor Sear, Kedah [GPS]

The return of the food blogger... Haha! It's like finally, a new post after 4 months due to a lot of issues, study, exam, last semester, Covid19, and also Movement Control Order (MCO). Back to the topic, I was so surprised and excited that I found this in Summer Dessert Bakery, Alor Setar during MCO. I've been waiting so long for its arrival since the first time I saw it on the Summer Dessert Bakery Facebook official account. It's not anything new in Summer Dessert Bakery but I'm not sure the reason why it's not introducing in Alor Setar's store.

Thai Kway Chap (Yellow Signboard) @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Kedah is the state next to Thailand, hence, there is no lack of authentic Thailand foods in town, especially in Jitra and Alor Setar. Apart from the Thai Zhu Char, there are also many Thai street foods available in town, such as Kway Chap... one of the popular Thai street foods that Thai food lovers will not miss out on. It's a kind of noodles soup that served with a myriad of ingredients and a choice of Thai noodles on your preference. 

Restaurant Cha Kee (茶記) @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS] [Menu]

Located at Taman Perindustrian Mergong, behind Grand Alora Hotel, Restaurant Cha Kee (茶记) attempts to bring in the local dining experience of Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng (coffee shop) with the entire place transforming into Hong Kong-styled coffee shop, serving a wide range of Hong Kong local delights. Due to the eclectic yet extensive menu of Hong Kong foods, that's a reason why Malaysians love Hong Kong foods so much. As we expect, the menu features the typical Egg Noodles Soup, Cheese Baked Rice, Pork Burger, Fried Noodles and some other Hong Kong street foods. The prices are in mid-range. While taste-wise, the foods aren't as impressive as we hoped... there are rooms for improvement.

Handmade Dim Sum at Night @ Simpang Kuala, Alor Setar [GPS]

Dim Sum is the dish that prepared in the small bite-sized and served in the small bamboo steamer or basket. It can be found easily in the Chinese district because it's one of the favourite food for the Chinese. People will usually have it in the morning as breakfast. Although there is not a lack of Dim Sum restaurant in Alor Setar, but this is the only spot that Alor Setarian can have Dim Sum at night. This would be the perfect spot to satisfy those who are craving for Dim Sum but not able to have it in the busy morning.

Yomie's Rice x Yogurt 有米酸奶 @ Ampang Business Centre, Alor Setar [GPS]

With the high demand for Bubble Milk Tea nowadays, many Bubble Milk Tea brands have appeared in the market with their own signature and unique beverages. Nevertheless, Yomie's Rice x Yogurt 有米酸奶 does not follow the suit of the boba's trend. Instead,  it enters the market with the concept of healthy and natural drinks. Apart from using the healthy yogurt as the base, Yomie's Rice x Yogurt 有米酸奶 also apply many natural ingredients like purple rice, oatmeal, hawthorn, corn, avocado, red dates, and red beans on their drink.

[Revisit] Chan Kee Restaurant 赞记粥饭面家 @ Alor Setar [GPS]

Located at opposite night market Jalan Putra, the same row with the well-known stir-fried fish restaurant - Chin Venlin, Chan Kee is the Hong Kong-style roasted meat restaurant that opened in Alor Setar a year ago. The main selling point of Chan Kee is it provides the choices of noodles or rice for the diners because it's the only restaurant that serves noodles with roasted meat in Alor Setar. During my first visit, I thought that the foods here do not suit my liking because those foods are just normal and taste lighter... do not worth a shoutout. Nevertheless, during my visit recently, I found the foods here have much improved.

[Revisit] Rockin Chick, the Healthiest Burger @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

The burger is not only the food loved by Malaysians but also the world. Therefore, it can be commonly found everywhere, from the roadside stall to the restaurant. If you are one of the burger lovers and would like to satiate your cravings for the burger while caring for your health, then you should make your way to this healthiest burger joint in Alor Setar - Rockin Chick! The store serves a range of unconventional burgers with a little Asian influence. Moreover, most of the ingredients here are made from scratch with the natural ingredient and without preservatives. To ensure the freshest taste of the foods, all the foods are also made on the spot upon ordering.

Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Summer Dessert Bakery which is a Penang based bakery had finally opened its first in Alor Setar today (01 October 2019), which named Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe. What I like about this Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe is that it’s the one-stop cafe where you could get almost anything from freshly baked bread to cake, sandwich, pastry, dessert, pie, coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner under one roof. It's also one of my favourite bakeries in Penang because of its wide variety of choices and its strategic location.

位于槟城的Summer Dessert Bakery面包店终于在今天（2019年10月1日）在亚罗士打开设了第一家店，名为Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe。 我喜欢Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe，因为它是一家一站式的咖啡馆，一应俱全。从新鲜出炉的面包到蛋糕，三明治，糕点，甜点，派，咖啡，早餐，午餐和晚餐等。它也是我在槟城最爱的面包店之一，因为它的选择范围很广，地理位置优越。

Eupe Food Court Curry Mee @ Sungai Petani [GPS]

Eupe Food Court Curry Mee is the curry mee that needs no further introduction because it's the famous curry noodles spot in Sungai Petani. Although the queue is insanely long all the time but it still has been receiving positive responses from the neighborhood, as well as attracting the tourists to visit here because of its delectable curry mee. 

Eupe美食广场的咖喱面是一个无需再多做介绍的咖喱面，因为它在双溪大年非常著名。虽然档口前何时都是大排长龙，但是由于其美味的咖喱面，它仍然得到当地人的积极回应，并吸引了许多游客的光顾。

[Revisit] Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe @ Aman Central, Alor Setar [GPS]

Revisit Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe at Aman Central, Alor Setar after half year since my first visit. Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe can be considered as a good spot to fix your craving for Korean Foods in Alor Setar because there are only a few Korean Cuisines in the town. Instead of specialising in a certain Korean local dishes, Oiso provides a wide range of home-cooked Korean dishes in the restaurant. Hence, all the meals are provided in a set. Since I've been tried Korea Black Bean Noodles (짜장면) and Tteokbokki (떡볶이) during my first visit, so I decided to try something else.

自从半年前Oiso刚开张的时候第一次试过以后，这是我第二次访问Oiso。Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe在亚罗士打可以被认为是一间能够解决你对韩国美食渴望的地方，因为在亚罗士打的韩国餐馆少之又少。Oiso提供各种家常韩国料理，而不是专门供应某韩国当地菜肴。 因此，所有的餐点都是属于套餐。 在我第一次访问Oiso是，我已试过韩国炸酱面（짜장면）和辣炒年糕（떡볶이），所以我决定尝试别的菜肴。

Nasi Lemak Haji Ali @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Nasi Lemak is one of the proud Malaysian dishes. In recent years, it certainly has undergone some evolution... from the beginning wallet friendly banana leaf pyramid nasi lemak to the additional dishes, and luxurious add-ons. Arguably one of the most talked Nasi Lemak specialists in town, Nasi Lemak Haji is one of the famous restaurants in Alor Setar. It has been operating in the town for more than 6 decades (since 1958).

椰浆饭是马来西亚人自豪的菜肴之一。 近年来，它经历了一些演变... 从一开始较为便宜使用香蕉叶包成的金字塔型椰浆饭到能够额外选择菜肴，甚至是更豪华的选择。 Nasi Lemak Haji Ali是亚罗士打最受关注的椰浆饭之一，也是亚罗士打着名的餐厅之一。 它已经在亚罗士打营业超过60多年了（自1958年以来）。

Dede Moda Restaurant @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Although Hong Kong foods are not something new in Malaysia but the love of Malaysians for Hong Kong foods are still increasing and there are more and more Hong Kong style restaurants opened in Malaysia. Nevertheless, in Alor Setar, there are only 2 Hong Kong Style Restaurants and Dede Moda （潮）Restaurant is one of the two. To suit the theme, the restaurant's interior is designed with the bold Hong Kong old-school elements...  it exudes nice rustic vibes as you can see from the old wall posters and traditional cutlery.

虽然香港美食对于马来西亚人并不是新事物，但他们对香港美食的热爱仍在增加，香港餐厅也开得越来越多。 然而，在亚罗士打，只有2家港式餐厅，而Dede Moda（潮）餐厅则是其中之一。 为了符合其主题，餐厅的室内设计采用了大胆的香港老派元素... 从古老的墙壁海报和传统餐具中散发着质朴的氛围。

Sushi Ya @ Ampang Business Centre, Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Sushi Ya is a well-established brand known for its economical offering at Raja Uda. Lovers of sushi will be excited to know that Sushi Ya is now operating at Alor Setar, Kedah. It's located at Ground Floor of Ampang Business Centre in Alor Setar. Many sushi lovers flocked the place on its grand opening. Since its first opening on 18 March 2019, I've visited many times throughout this period because mainly it's near to my house and secondly I love the Mentai-series sushi available in the store. In addition, the price of the sushi is relatively lower in comparison to other sushi restaurants though the size of sushi would be slightly smaller. The sushi runs on the conveyor belt is only RM 1.90 for the pink plate and RM 2.90 for the red plate.

Sushi Ya是一家在Raja Uda以经济实惠而闻名的知名品牌。寿司爱好者必会很高兴地知道，Sushi Ya现在已在亚罗士打营业。 它位于亚罗士打Ampang Business Centre的低楼。 许多寿司爱好者在开幕时蜂拥而至。 自2019年3月18日第一天开张以来，我在这期间已访问过多次，主要是因为它靠近我家，其次我喜欢店里的明太系列的寿司。 此外，与其他寿司店相比，寿司的价格相对较低，虽然寿司的尺寸会略小一些。 传送带上运行；粉红色盘仅为1.90令吉，红色盘则为2.90令吉。

Royaltea 皇茶 @ Persiaran Sultan Abdul Hamid, Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

With the concept of natural, healthy and delicious, Royaltea 皇茶天下 seek to create a new style of leisure drinks by being the first to introduce cheese tea to Malaysia. It's the first brand that introduces the Moustache Salted Cheese Milk Tea in Malaysia. Albeit this is not my first time having it but I'm still excited because there's a new bubble tea-ish cafe came to town. The interior decor of Royaltea Alor Setar is almost the same as its other stores; a red brick wall with a touch of the industrial element together ... a comfortable space it seems.

我好饿106 @ Pasar Taman Berjaya, Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Dai Loke Mian (大碌面) literally means the big fat noodles, its springy texture making it irresistible for the noodles lovers. However, it's not easy to get it in Alor Setar as there are not many restaurants selling it. If you are a fan of Dai Loke Mian, you may visit this place to satisfy your craving for it. Albeit 我好饿106 has no actual location on the map but it is quite easy to be here because it's housed in the corner coffee shop of the wet market at Taman Berjaya, Alor Setar, Kedah.

大碌面是一种粗面条，它弹性的质地使面条爱好者不可抗拒。 然而，在亚罗士打并不容易找到，因为不是很多餐厅有卖。 如果你是大碌面的粉丝，这个地方能够满足你对大碌面的渴望。 虽然我好饿106在地图上没有实际位置，但很容易找到，因为它位于吉打亚罗士打成功园市场角落的咖啡店里。

Mykōri Dessert Cafe @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Mykōri Dessert Cafe is one of the well-known Japanese dessert stores in Malaysia and it's finally operating in Alor Setar, Kedah on 25 May 2019. It's such a piece of great news for Alor Setarian as there is no any Japanese dessert store in town.  It's located right beside Aman Central Shopping Mall... housed at the lower floor of Samila Business Centre. The interior decor is modern with some basic simple white tables and chairs... a young space it seems.

MykōriDessertCafe是马来西亚着名的日本甜品店之一，它于2019年5月25日在吉打亚罗士打正式开业。这对亚罗士打人来说，是一个好消息，因为亚罗士打上没有任何日本甜品店。 它位于Aman Central 购物中心旁边... Samila Business Centre的低层。室内装饰现代化，配有一些简单的白色桌椅...

Mykōri Dessert Cafe is famous for its Instagram-worthy Kakigori and Shibuya Toasts. Kakigori is a Japanese shaved ice dessert topped with flavored syrup and condiments; while Shibuya Toast is the thick honey toast that topped with some fresh fruits and ice-cream. At Mykōri Dessert Cafe, there are more than 15 flavors of attractive Kakigori in store. 

MykōriDessertCafe以其值得Instagram的Kakigori和Shibuya Toasts而闻名。 Kakigori是一种日本刨冰甜点，上面配有调味糖浆和调味品; 而Shibuya Toast是厚厚的蜂蜜吐司，配上一些新鲜水果和冰淇淋。 在Mykōri Dessert Cafe里有超过15种诱人口味的Kakigori。

Rollney Kurtos Kalacs 匈牙利烟囱卷 @ Aman Central, Alor Setar [GPS]

Originally known as Kürtőskalács, Kurtos Kalacs is one of the Hungarian pastries that come in a chimney-shape. Although it's not new in Malaysia but it's first in Alor Setar. It's now available at 4th Floor, Aman Central. Unlike the one I ate before, Rollney brought the Kurtos Kalacs into another level by combining it with the soft serve ice-cream. You may either choose to have the Kurtos Kalacs by itself or along with the soft serve ice-cream.

Kurtos Kalacs最初被称为Kürtőskalács，是匈牙利烟囱状的糕点之一。虽然匈牙利烟囱卷并不是在马来西亚刚推出，但它却刚在亚罗士打出售。与我之前吃的不同，Rollney将Kurtos Kalacs与冰淇淋相结合，将其带入了另一个层次。你可以选择单独享用Kurtos Kalacs或与冰淇淋一起享用。
