Located in Jalan Pintu Sepuluh,105c Coffeehaus is one of the latest spots to chill out in Alor Setar. 105c Coffeehaus stands out as compared to other restaurants and cafes due to its striking modern red-brick double-storey building, spacious environment, and relaxed vibe. It's easy to locate this place, just drive along the main road of Jalan Pintu Sepuluh and you will find this place right next to Starcity Hotel. Food-wise, they offer a variety of Western foods with desserts and gelato. Probably due to the first few days' jitters, the service quality is below par and has room for improvements.

Sulb Cafe @ Simpang Kuala, Alor Setar, Kedah

Sulb opened its doors on the easy-to-remember date of 3 March 2022, has quickly risen through the ranks, and appeared as one of the most popular cafes in Alor Setar. The cafe adopts minimalist interior decor in shades of grey and white, with pebble stone flooring, polished cement seats, and tall trees to make the space even more charming and comfy. It makes me feel that I've returned to one of the popular cafes in Penang - Norm Micro. The foods offered here are quite attractive as those foods are rare to be seen in Alor Setar. Such as Egg Benedict, Croque Madame, Turkish Egg, Beef Quesadillas, Wiener Schnitzel, Chicken Cacciatore, and so on. Prices may be on the high side and wait times will be longer but given the cozy atmosphere and attractive menu, the place is worth checking out.

Cafe Atas @ Alor Setar, Kedah

Housed in the colorful building, Pekan Buah, Alor Setar, Atas Cafe is a relative newcomer withinside the neighborhood gelato scene. The cafe is facing the parking lot behind Balai Seni Alor Setar. It's on the second floor, so you will need to traipse up the steps to reach it. The design of the cafe is unique yet comfy. You can simply get a beautiful and instagrammable photo at every corner here.

Xiao Man Dumpling & Noodle 小嫚饺子馆 @ Alor Setar, Kedah

Located at Jalan Kuala Kedah, right beside Black Whale Milk Tea, Xiao Man Dumpling & Noodle 小嫚饺子馆 is a restaurant that specialised in dumplings and noodles. Apart from that, Xiao Man Dumpling & Noodles also serve a wide variety of Taiwan local foods and snacks, such as Taiwanese Egg Rolls, Scallion Pancake, Gua Pao, Hsinchu Fried Rice Vermicelli, Taiwanese Shaved Ice, Milk Tea and so on. With its wide variety of choices, I thought it would be a great spot for me to satisfy my craving for Taiwanese foods at first, however, it disappointed us during our first visit. In spite of that, I decided to try it again so that I can make a more fair food review for its foods.

Chunz Korean Corn Dog @ Aman Central, Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Corn Dog is one of the well-known snacks in Korea. It is one of the stalls I often see when traveling in Korea and there is such a stall outside the hotel where I live. Corn Dog is not just a usual sausage that fried with the batter. The authentic Korea Corn Dog is often stuffed with the other ingredients, like Mozarella Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, and Tteokbokki, then coated with the batter and breadcrumbs, and lastly sprinkle some sugar on top after deep-fried. And to enrich your tastebud, you may even change the breadcrumbs into sweet potatoes or potato bites to enjoy the different tastes and textures.

In Alor Setar, there are not many pizza outlets in town. For Alor Setarian, mention pizza, most likely Pizza Hut and Domino will come to mind. Hence, US Pizza has gained a lot of attention when it started its business in Alor Setar. Located at Ampang Business Centre, US Pizza serves an array of delectable American Pizza in store.

Taiwan Famous Taro Cheesecake by Summer Dessert Bakery @ Alor Sear, Kedah [GPS]

The return of the food blogger... Haha! It's like finally, a new post after 4 months due to a lot of issues, study, exam, last semester, Covid19, and also Movement Control Order (MCO). Back to the topic, I was so surprised and excited that I found this in Summer Dessert Bakery, Alor Setar during MCO. I've been waiting so long for its arrival since the first time I saw it on the Summer Dessert Bakery Facebook official account. It's not anything new in Summer Dessert Bakery but I'm not sure the reason why it's not introducing in Alor Setar's store.

Thai Kway Chap (Yellow Signboard) @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Kedah is the state next to Thailand, hence, there is no lack of authentic Thailand foods in town, especially in Jitra and Alor Setar. Apart from the Thai Zhu Char, there are also many Thai street foods available in town, such as Kway Chap... one of the popular Thai street foods that Thai food lovers will not miss out on. It's a kind of noodles soup that served with a myriad of ingredients and a choice of Thai noodles on your preference. 

Restaurant Cha Kee (茶記) @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS] [Menu]

Located at Taman Perindustrian Mergong, behind Grand Alora Hotel, Restaurant Cha Kee (茶记) attempts to bring in the local dining experience of Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng (coffee shop) with the entire place transforming into Hong Kong-styled coffee shop, serving a wide range of Hong Kong local delights. Due to the eclectic yet extensive menu of Hong Kong foods, that's a reason why Malaysians love Hong Kong foods so much. As we expect, the menu features the typical Egg Noodles Soup, Cheese Baked Rice, Pork Burger, Fried Noodles and some other Hong Kong street foods. The prices are in mid-range. While taste-wise, the foods aren't as impressive as we hoped... there are rooms for improvement.

4Fingers Crispy Chicken @ Aman Central, Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Singapore homegrown Korean Fried Chicken brand, 4Fingers Crispy Chicken has finally reached Alor Setar, Kedah. It's such a piece of great news for Alor Setarian, you can now get it at 4th Floor, Aman Central... just right beside GSC cinema. Over the years, the brand has been receiving great response across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Australia. Albeit the brand is not originated from Korea, but the brand is specialised in the Korean Fried Chicken and it is said to serve the best and authentic Korean-influenced Chickens ever.

Handmade Dim Sum at Night @ Simpang Kuala, Alor Setar [GPS]

Dim Sum is the dish that prepared in the small bite-sized and served in the small bamboo steamer or basket. It can be found easily in the Chinese district because it's one of the favourite food for the Chinese. People will usually have it in the morning as breakfast. Although there is not a lack of Dim Sum restaurant in Alor Setar, but this is the only spot that Alor Setarian can have Dim Sum at night. This would be the perfect spot to satisfy those who are craving for Dim Sum but not able to have it in the busy morning.

Yomie's Rice x Yogurt 有米酸奶 @ Ampang Business Centre, Alor Setar [GPS]

With the high demand for Bubble Milk Tea nowadays, many Bubble Milk Tea brands have appeared in the market with their own signature and unique beverages. Nevertheless, Yomie's Rice x Yogurt 有米酸奶 does not follow the suit of the boba's trend. Instead,  it enters the market with the concept of healthy and natural drinks. Apart from using the healthy yogurt as the base, Yomie's Rice x Yogurt 有米酸奶 also apply many natural ingredients like purple rice, oatmeal, hawthorn, corn, avocado, red dates, and red beans on their drink.

[Revisit] Chan Kee Restaurant 赞记粥饭面家 @ Alor Setar [GPS]

Located at opposite night market Jalan Putra, the same row with the well-known stir-fried fish restaurant - Chin Venlin, Chan Kee is the Hong Kong-style roasted meat restaurant that opened in Alor Setar a year ago. The main selling point of Chan Kee is it provides the choices of noodles or rice for the diners because it's the only restaurant that serves noodles with roasted meat in Alor Setar. During my first visit, I thought that the foods here do not suit my liking because those foods are just normal and taste lighter... do not worth a shoutout. Nevertheless, during my visit recently, I found the foods here have much improved.

Oden World, Komonoya @ Tesco Mergong, Alor Setar [GPS]

Komonoya is the Japanese concept store that sells a range of wallet-friendly products which includes household, kitchenware, mobile accessories, decoration, toys and so on. It is the brand originated from Japan which the company uses the name of 100-Yen, Watts, Meets & Silk in Japan, while for the outlets outside of Japan, such as Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Peru named "Komonoya".

Chizu & Honzu @ Aman Central, Alor Setar [GPS]

Chizu is a brand well-known for its Japanese Cheese beverages with the finest tea and coffee, while Honzu is specialised in creating a range of delectable croissants. The brand of Chizu & Honzu is the combination of both brands. It received a big welcome in Kuala Lumpur due to its premium beverage and foods. Surprisingly, Chizu & Honzu decided to start its first outlet in Alor Setar first in North Malaysia instead of Penang, the most urbanised state in which most branded products will launch its business.

Fried Chicken Master @ C-Mart, Alor Setar [GPS]

Fried Chicken Master is Taiwan's leading Halal fried chicken chain that specialised in Taiwanese local flavour fried chicken. Mostly you can easily find Fried Chicken Master near to Xing Fu Tang bubble milk tea because both brands are under the same company and it's finally available in Alor Setar after the grand opening in Penang. Located at C-Mart Alor Setar, Fried Chicken Master shares the same store with Xing Fu Tang bubble milk tea... it has a few comfortable seating that enables the diner to enjoy the fried chicken while getting a cup of bubble milk tea.

Chatto Handcrafted Tea Bar @ Ampang Business Centre, Alor Setar [GPS]

The trend of Bubble Milk Tea did not show signs of slowing down in Alor Setar, there is more and more Bubble Milk Tea brand opening in the town recently, and Chatto Handcrafted Tea Bar is one of those brands. Located at Ground Floor, Ampang Business Centre, Chatto Handcrafted Tea Bar is one of the famous local bubble milk tea brands established in South Malaysia. It is the Japanese concept Tea Bar that serves a range of premium beverages, snacks, and bento.

The burger is not only the food loved by Malaysians but also the world. Therefore, it can be commonly found everywhere, from the roadside stall to the restaurant. Summer Dessert Bakery which is a Penang based bakery had finally opened its first in Alor Setar today (01 October 2019), which named Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe. What I like about this Summer Dessert Bakery Cafe is that it’s the one-stop cafe where you could get almost anything from freshly baked bread to cake, sandwich, pastry, dessert, pie, coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner under one roof. It's also one of my favourite bakeries in Penang because of its wide variety of choices and its strategic location.

Revisit Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe at Aman Central, Alor Setar after half year since my first visit. Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe can be considered as a good spot to fix your craving for Korean Foods in Alor Setar because there are only a few Korean Cuisines in the town. Instead of specialising in a certain Korean local dishes, Oiso provides a wide range of home-cooked Korean dishes in the restaurant. Hence, all the meals are provided in a set. Since I've been tried Korea Black Bean Noodles (짜장면) and Tteokbokki (떡볶이) during my first visit, so I decided to try something else.

自从半年前Oiso刚开张的时候第一次试过以后，这是我第二次访问Oiso。Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe在亚罗士打可以被认为是一间能够解决你对韩国美食渴望的地方，因为在亚罗士打的韩国餐馆少之又少。Oiso提供各种家常韩国料理，而不是专门供应某韩国当地菜肴。 因此，所有的餐点都是属于套餐。 在我第一次访问Oiso是，我已试过韩国炸酱面（짜장면）和辣炒年糕（떡볶이），所以我决定尝试别的菜肴。
