Thai Kway Chap (Yellow Signboard) @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Kedah is the state next to Thailand, hence, there is no lack of authentic Thailand foods in town, especially in Jitra and Alor Setar. Apart from the Thai Zhu Char, there are also many Thai street foods available in town, such as Kway Chap... one of the popular Thai street foods that Thai food lovers will not miss out on. It's a kind of noodles soup that served with a myriad of ingredients and a choice of Thai noodles on your preference.

Located at China Town Food Court (唐人街饮食中心) in Alor Setar, the Kway Chap selling here could be considered as the best Kway Chap in town. Please do note that there are two stalls selling Kway Chap here but the one I prefer is the stall with the yellow signboard, selling next to the Thai Grilled Fish by a Thai woman.

The Thai Kway Chap selling by this Thai woman is not only authentic but also delectable. The broth is flavourful with a deep meatiness to it and the ingredients are given generously as well. There are include Deep-fried Crispy Pork Belly, Pork Meatballs, Chicken Feets, Braised Bean Curd, 1/2 Braised Egg, and Bean Sprouts. Apart from that, diners can opt for Thai Kway Teow, Thai Wide Square Noodles or Rice Vermicelli based on their liking. The Thai Kway Chap tastes even better with additional condiments like Chili Flakes, Fish Sauce, Sugar, and Thai Chili Sauce.

Taste: 7.5 (1 bad → 10 good)

Price-wise, I thought it's wallet-friendly. It's only RM 5 per bowl. In addition, since I love the Crispy Pork Belly here, so I will always add more Cripsy Pork Belly for my noodles that only costs me an additional RM 1.
