[Revisit] Chan Kee Restaurant 赞记粥饭面家 @ Alor Setar [GPS]

Located at opposite night market Jalan Putra, the same row with the well-known stir-fried fish restaurant - Chin Venlin, Chan Kee is the Hong Kong-style roasted meat restaurant that opened in Alor Setar a year ago. The main selling point of Chan Kee is it provides the choices of noodles or rice for the diners because it's the only restaurant that serves noodles with roasted meat in Alor Setar. During my first visit, I thought that the foods here do not suit my liking because those foods are just normal and taste lighter... do not worth a shoutout. Nevertheless, during my visit recently, I found the foods here have much improved.

Mui Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice （符美记海南鸡饭）@ Hat Yai, Thailand [GPS]

Chicken Rice is one of the staples for Malaysian or maybe Singaporean as I know, and it can be found anywhere easily. Nevertheless, do you know that Chicken Rice is also one of the famous foods in Thailand apart from authentic Thai cuisine? if you're looking forward to a plate of simple and delectable Chicken Rice in Hat Yai, navigate your way to Mui Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice that is just a stone throw away from Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel. Don't judge the restaurant by the exterior, but on the chicken hanging at the counter right in front of the entrance. Although the decor of the restaurant is simply old and down to the earth, but it's really a hidden gem in Hat Yai. 

不要从外表来判断这间餐厅，在这里，你得要从入口处柜台上悬挂着的鸡来判断。 尽管这间餐厅的装饰陈旧而朴实，但它确确确实实是合艾一颗隐藏的宝石。

The menu here at Mui Kee is straight-forward, there is no other foods or even side dishes here beside the chicken. However, the restaurant is usually packed especially during the lunch hour. People always said that a picture speaks a thousand words but at Mui Kee, it doesn’t. 

符美记的菜单很简单，除了鸡肉以外，店里就没有出售其他食物或配菜。人们总是说一张照片你可以代替千言万语， 但是在符美记却并不是如此。

If you thought the chicken rice here looks not attractive and assume that it's not mouth-watering, then you're wrong. The deboned chicken here is actually so tender and moist while the skin is sinfully smooth.

如果你认为这里的鸡饭看起来没有吸引力，并认为它并不会让你垂涎三尺，那你就错了。 这里的去骨鸡实际上非常柔软嫩滑，而外皮却非常光滑。

On the other hand, you also should not miss out on their flavor-rice. It's one of a reason that makes Mui Kee the best chicken rice restaurant in Hat Yai.  Their flavor-rice is so fragrant but not oily. I can even eat it plain on its own without any condiments or dishes.

Lai Foong Lala Noodles & Beef Noodle Soup 吉隆坡驰名啦啦米粉 @ Kuala Lumpur [GPS]

To be honest, you might not feel like enter Lai Foong coffee shop at first sight because it is an old school coffee shop with not much ambience to mention about and you would even need to share the table, particularly during the peak hours. Albeit there are many stalls available in the coffee shop but we purposely here for the famous Lala (Clam) Rice Vermicelli and Beef Noodle Soup.

说实话，当你第一眼看见丽丰茶餐室时，你不会想进入的，因为这是一个气氛不是很好的老式咖啡店，你甚至还需要与其他人一起分享餐桌，特别是在高峰时段。 虽然咖啡馆里有很多摊位，但我们是专程来这里吃着名的啦啦（蛤）米粉和牛肉面的。

Lean Huat Laksa (Jenny Thai Hainanese Chicken Rice) @ Lorong Shariff, Alor Setar [GPS]

Lean Huat Laksa has been long rooted in Lorong Shariff. It was established in 1998 and appeared to be popular among locals in town. Not only Laksa, but Popiah, Jawa Noodles, Pasembur, Otak-Otak, Rojak, Fried Noodles, and Fried Rice are now available either with the affordable price. Besides that, there is also a stall in front of the restaurant selling Thai Style Hainanese Chicken Rice (Khao Mun Gai) หุงข้าวมันไก่สูตรนี้อร่อยมาก along with other traditional Thailand dishes, such as Somtam, Kerabu and Salad Rolls.

赞记是亚罗士打的新开的一家烧肉店。 亚罗士打人会比较容易找到此位置，因为它就与闻名的炒鱼餐厅新汶玲同一排。

The main selling point of Chan Kee is it provides the choices of noodles or rice for the diners. The diners can either having rice or noodles along with their preferred roasted meat.
