TEALIVE ECO STRAWLESS CUP

As a foodie, in addition to the scrumptious foods and drinks, I also like to collect appealing bottles, containers, and mugs, so I have many stunning items at home. (My sister used to say that I am like a "Garung Kuni") HAHA :D

Back to the topic, when I saw Tealive’s post on Facebook yesterday that its ECO STRAWLESS CUP will be available to be purchased in all of its physical stores nationwide from 1 September onward, I was super excited. That's because, during its first just launched on 17 August, I'd missed it... only 5000 pieces are selling online at that time. So, in order to avoid missing it again, I headed to the nearest Tealive right after finished my lunch.

Restaurant Cha Kee (茶記) @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS] [Menu]

Located at Taman Perindustrian Mergong, behind Grand Alora Hotel, Restaurant Cha Kee (茶记) attempts to bring in the local dining experience of Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng (coffee shop) with the entire place transforming into Hong Kong-styled coffee shop, serving a wide range of Hong Kong local delights. Due to the eclectic yet extensive menu of Hong Kong foods, that's a reason why Malaysians love Hong Kong foods so much. As we expect, the menu features the typical Egg Noodles Soup, Cheese Baked Rice, Pork Burger, Fried Noodles and some other Hong Kong street foods. The prices are in mid-range. While taste-wise, the foods aren't as impressive as we hoped... there are rooms for improvement.

HK Boy Cart Noodle 香港仔車仔麵 @ The One Mahsuri, Penang [GPS]

HK Boy Cart Noodle is the best place for whoever loves the Hong Kong delights. HK Boy Cart Noodle has 2 outlets in Penang nowadays, which are located at The One Mahsuri, Bayan Lepas and Beach Street. The interior design of both the outlets has a strong element of Hong Kong street but with air-conditioned space and comfortable seating. It's certainly my favourite spot to have Hong Kong dishes in Penang. I almost visit it twice a week because the foods here are tasty and there are a variety of choices available for me to choose from.

The Black Bear: Daboba (熊黑堂) @ Raja Uda, Penang [GPS]

In fact, bubble milk tea is the beverage originated from Taiwan, which the brewed tea is combined with the milk and later add in the chewy tapioca balls. Nowadays, it's not just a drink. Instead, it's a brand and even a symbol. In addition, with the high demand for bubble tea, more and more bubble tea brands can be found in the market, and Daboba (熊黑堂) is one of those popular brands that well-known for its black-bear logo.

珍珠奶茶实际上是来自台湾的饮料，是将冲泡的奶茶与牛奶混合在一起，然后加入一些有嚼劲的木薯球。 如今，珍珠奶茶已不仅仅是一种饮料了。 而是一个品牌，甚至是一个象征。 此外，随着对珍珠奶茶的大量需求，市场上也可以找到越来越多的珍珠奶茶品牌了，而熊黑堂就是最受欢迎品牌之一，以其黑熊的标志而闻名。

Albeit the trend of bubble tea has been crazed for a long period across the nation but not Alor Setar. However, more and more famous bubble tea brands are starting opening in Alor Setar due to the high popular demand lately... and The Alley is one of those brands.

尽管珍珠奶茶的趋势已在在全国热销了很久，但亚罗士打的市场始终未展开。然而，由于最近的高需求，越来越多的知名珍珠奶茶品牌已在亚罗士打开业，而鹿角巷就是其中之一。

Due to high popular demand, bubble milk tea has now become the most desired drink across the world. It's the bubble milk tea brand that well-known for the unique and creative beverage in Penang.

KOI bubble milk tea is actually established by 50嵐 (50 Lan), the most recognized milk tea brand in Taiwan. It has even caused a craze queue in when it opened the first outlet in oversea, Singapore. To date, KOI has over 400 outlets in 12 countries since its first opening in 2006. As similar to other bubble milk tea brand, KOI also features a wide variety of drinks, from the must-have bubble milk tea to Signature Macchiato, Flavored Tea, healthy Yakult Tea drink, and Yakult Juice drink.

The craze for the Bubble Milk Tea did not show signs of slowing down these few years, there is more and more cafe Bubble Milk Tea cafe is opening throughout Malaysia, and in Penang, here's another hipster Bubble Milk Tea brand has started its business recently, which is WowTea (小气茶). It's a China Bubble Milk Tea brand that owned more than 500 stores in China. In addition to the appealing beverages, WowTea also provides the soft and fluffy Soufflé Pancakes in store to satisfy your hunger. 

Taiwan Expo 2019 in Penang for the 1st Time @ Setia Spice Convention Centre, Penang

Boba Milk Tea has taken the world by storm and spread rapidly like wildfire across Malaysia. Looks like it's not slowing down any time soon. Recently in Penang, there is one more new Boba Milk Tea brand is there to serves Penangites, which is Xing Fu Tang (幸福堂). It has claimed to be Taiwan’s No. 1 Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea brand. What is especially noteworthy is that Xing Fu Tang only first opened in Taiwan in January 2018, but now the brand has more than 60 stores across the world.

Dede Moda Restaurant @ Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

Although Hong Kong foods are not something new in Malaysia but the love of Malaysians for Hong Kong foods are still increasing and there are more and more Hong Kong style restaurants opened in Malaysia. Nevertheless, in Alor Setar, there are only 2 Hong Kong Style Restaurants and Dede Moda （潮）Restaurant is one of the two. To suit the theme, the restaurant's interior is designed with the bold Hong Kong old-school elements...  it exudes nice rustic vibes as you can see from the old wall posters and traditional cutlery.

虽然香港美食对于马来西亚人并不是新事物，但他们对香港美食的热爱仍在增加，香港餐厅也开得越来越多。 然而，在亚罗士打，只有2家港式餐厅，而Dede Moda（潮）餐厅则是其中之一。 为了符合其主题，餐厅的室内设计采用了大胆的香港老派元素... 从古老的墙壁海报和传统餐具中散发着质朴的氛围。

Panntea @ Maritime Piazza, Karpal Singh, Penang [GPS]

Panntea （盼茶）is an international Pearl Milk Tea brand. Since the brand founded, Panntea has more than 30 stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Australia, and the United States. It's now located at the bustling Maritime Piazza at Karpal Singh, Penang. With its healthy concept drink and European bread, it has become one of the favourite Pearl Milk Tea brands of Penangites. 

盼茶是一家国际珍珠奶茶品牌。 自成立以来，Panntea在新加坡，马来西亚，加拿大，澳大利亚和美国拥有超过30家店铺。 它现在位于槟城Karpal Singh繁华的Maritime Piazza里。 凭借其健康饮料和欧洲面包的概念，它已成为槟城最受欢迎的珍珠奶茶品牌之一。

Royaltea 皇茶 @ Persiaran Sultan Abdul Hamid, Alor Setar, Kedah [GPS]

With the concept of natural, healthy and delicious, Royaltea 皇茶天下 seek to create a new style of leisure drinks by being the first to introduce cheese tea to Malaysia. It's the first brand that introduces the Moustache Salted Cheese Milk Tea in Malaysia. Albeit this is not my first time having it but I'm still excited because there's a new bubble tea-ish cafe came to town. The interior decor of Royaltea Alor Setar is almost the same as its other stores; a red brick wall with a touch of the industrial element together ... a comfortable space it seems.

Instea Creative Tea and Coffee Bar @ Penang Macalister [GPS]

Instea,  a hipster instagrammable tea and coffee bar that newly opened on 16 May 2019 in Penang Island. It's housed in Tropicana 218 Macalister, a building that situated at the bustling Macalister Road, Penang. (It's such a piece of great news for those who live on the island as they do not have to purposely head to Bukit Mertajam anymore.) Instea uses the warmth and comforting ambiance to encourage openness and connectivity between people by providing a noble and elegant space with the gold and white marble theme apart from its handcrafted fine drinks.

Instea，一家于2019年5月16日在槟城岛新开业的时髦茶/咖啡吧，坐落在槟城繁华的Macalister路，Tropicana 218 Macalister的建筑里。（对于那些住在槟岛的人来说，这是一个好消息，因为他们不需再故意前往Bukit Mertajam了。）除了手工制作的精美饮品外，Instea利用金色和白色大理石主题营造高贵典雅的空间，带给顾客温暖和舒适的氛围来鼓励人与人之间的连接。

San Restaurant (杉海鲜茶餐室) @ Kuah, Langkawi [GPS]

San Restaurant (杉海鲜茶餐室) is one of a local restaurant in Langkawi. You can easily locate it after 10 minutes driving from Jetty Point, Kuah. The restaurant is just set beside of the bursting Jalan Padang Matsirat, Kuah. Although without any outstanding interior design and ambiance, it still has been receiving positive responses from the neighborhood, as well as the tourists because of its wallet-friendly yet delectable foods. 

杉海鲜茶餐室是兰卡威的当地餐厅之一。从Kuah的Jetty Point开车10分钟后，你就可以轻易的找到它了。它就坐落在Jalan Padang Matsirat的旁边。虽然没有任何出色的室内设计和氛围，但它仍然得到了本地人和游客的积极响应，因为价格便宜而食物也很美味。

Best Hipster Place for Night Owl: MEME Xpress @ Bay Avenue, Penang 槟城适合夜猫子的时髦Cafe [GPS]

Bubble milk tea is not any new thing nowadays but the trend keeps bursting and thus there are more and more vendors/brands coming out. In order to increase their own competitive advantage in the market, the vendors keep expanding the bubble milk tea market from selling the usual milk tea with boba to the trend brown sugar milk teas, fruit teas, and yogurt drinks. 

珍珠奶茶现已不是新鲜的事物，但他的趋势却不断爆发，因此有越来越多的供应商/品牌问世。 为了增加自己在市场上的竞争优势，供应商不断扩大珍珠奶茶的市场，不止出售常有的珍珠奶茶，现也贩卖流行的黑糖珍珠奶茶，水果茶和酸奶饮料。

Hong Kong 8am (港室八点钟) @ Lorong Macalister, Penang

Hong Kong-style Cha Chan Teng (restaurant) is no stranger to Penangites because there are already many restaurants with the same concept available in town... Hong Kong 8am is one of those. It's the Hong Kong-style restaurant located at Hutton Lane since June 2017. The design of the shop is relatively simple... there is only a large picture of Hong Kong's street on the wall. Space and seating are limited too. For the menu, although I thought that the price is wallet-friendly but the choices are limited. There are only Egg Tarts, Polo Bun, Pork Bun and Noodles with a variety of dishes.

香港风格的茶餐厅对槟城人并不陌生，因为城里已有很多相同的概念的餐厅......港式八点钟就是其中之一。 港式八点钟是位于Hutton Lane的香港风格餐厅，自2017年6月起开始营业。店铺的设计相对简单......墙上只有香港街道的图片作为装饰。 空间和座位也是有限的。 对于菜单，虽然我认为价格便宜，但选择有限。 这里只有蛋挞，菠萝包，猪肉包和各种仰视的面条。

Thai Shop @ Hutton Lane, Penang [GPS]

Thai Shop, a restaurant that served the traditional Thai street foods in Penang which owned by a Thai vendor. The restaurant was previously opened their business at small alley along Kimberly Street but now move to a better location along Hutton Lane.

Thai Shop是一家在槟城由泰国老板开的泰国餐厅。该餐厅之前在Kimberly Street的小巷里开业，但现在已搬到了Hutton Lane。

Thai Shop features an affordable but limited menu with a list of authentic Thai foods. Most main dishes are served with rice. The vendor brings cuisine from Thailand, all prepared with authentic taste using traditional ingredients.

Thai Shop提供了正宗且价格实惠的泰国美食，但是选择有限。大多数料理都是以米饭为主。店主提供的泰国美食均采用传统食材烹制而成。

CHATTO - Handcrafted Tea Bar is one of the popular milk tea brands in Malaysia and now it’s finally available in Penang. It's a Japanese concept Tea Bar that offers variety selection of handcrafted teas. CHATTO is fast expanding since its first opening in 2017 in Johor and now it has welcomed its 20th outlet in Penang.
