Boba Milk Tea has taken the world by storm and spread rapidly like wildfire across Malaysia. Looks like it's not slowing down any time soon. Recently in Penang, there is one more new Boba Milk Tea brand is there to serves Penangites, which is Xing Fu Tang (幸福堂). It has claimed to be Taiwan’s No. 1 Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea brand. What is especially noteworthy is that Xing Fu Tang only first opened in Taiwan in January 2018, but now the brand has more than 60 stores across the world.

Since its first opening at Juru Sentral, it has been receiving a never-ending crowd of Boba Milk Tea lovers, even though on the weekdays or during office hours. It's mostly because of their signature Stir-fried Brown Sugar Boba that is cooked right (in a wok) at the entrance of the shop daily.

During my visit, I ordered Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea instead of its flagship Brown Sugar Boba Milk because I do not prefer the fresh milk in the drink as it would become too creamy and rich. In fact, there is not much difference between both drinks. Besides milk, another difference is there is an additional melting brown sugar on top of Brown Sugar Boba Milk. I'm quite satisfied with the drink I ordered actually... the milk tea tastes light and refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. For the boba, it's chewy with the richer caramelized taste but slightly harder.

Apart from that, the Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta on its menu have also been making waves on the Internet because it's Instagram-worthy. There is a cute edible white bunny served on top of the Mango Smoothie. Taste-wise, it has a rich mango taste but the sweetness level is slightly over for me. While for the Rabbit Panna Cotta on top, it has nothing much to rave about except for its unique look.

Just pick up a fortune stick that set aside randomly and takes a piece of paper out from the drawer which matched to the number on the fortune stick. Then, you can see your fortune told on the paper. If you're lucky enough, you might win yourself a free drink from the shop.
