[Revisit] PUTIEN 莆田 @ Gurney Pargaon, Penang [GPS]

PUTIEN is the brand that started out in Singapore since the year 2000 and it has almost 50 branches in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan today. In the gene of foodies, trying out the new restaurant is always the must and they might not revisit again especially for the "luxury-pricey" foods, as like the One Michelin Star restaurant - PUTIEN. Nevertheless, the reason for me to revisit is that there are still many foods that I've never tried yet on my first visit during its grand opening in April 2018.

莆田是于2000年开始在新加坡成立的品牌,如今在新加坡,马来西亚,印度尼西亚,中国大陆,香港和台湾地区拥有近50个分行。 对于每位吃货,尝试新餐厅总是是必须的,此外,通常他们都可能不会再访问同一间餐厅,特别是对于那些“豪华且昂贵”的餐厅,例如像米其林一星级餐厅的莆田。但是,促使我再次访问的原因是,在2018年4月餐厅开幕时,我第一次到访的时候,任然还有许多食物我还未尝试过。

Shredded Pork with Sesame Bun is one of the Top 10 dishes at PUTIEN. With its 4Fingers-like Golden Fried Pocket Mantou attracted me to give it a try. Unlike the crispy texture of Katsu Chicken Sandwich served at 4Fingers, the bun is softer though it has a crispy skin outside. The shredded pork-wise, it's tender and flavorsome with the sliced onions.

黄金荷叶包是莆田的十大美食之一。 凭其类似4Finger的黄金荷叶包吸引了我想尝试一下。 与4Fingers的Katsu Chicken Sandwich的脆皮质地不同,莆田的黄金荷叶包虽然外皮也很香脆,但是吃起来比较松软。猪肉丝也很香嫩可口。

For the Yam lover like me, I totally can't resist the yam-dishes, so I decided to try both of them, which are Stir-fried Yam and Deep-fried Duck with Yam. Although both the dishes taste great but I would prefer the former one because the caramelized yam is fluffy inside and crispy outside with the right level of sweetness. Albeit the latter one is tasty too but it would be a little bit oiliness if having too much.

对于像我这样的芋头爱好者,我完全抵挡不了芋头,所以我决定尝试莆田所提供的两种芋头料理,分别是酥炒芋芯和芋香鸭。 尽管这两种菜肴都很好吃,但我比较喜欢前一种,因为芋头内部蓬松,外部酥脆,并且带有焦糖味,甜度适中。 尽管后者也很美味,但是如果食用过多的话会有点油腻。

Another thumbs-up dish is PUTIEN Lor Mee. The noodles are springy and the broth is flavourful due to the generous amount of seafood that slow-cooked for 8 hours.

另一个值得推荐的是莆田卤面。 其面条很有弹性,而且汤底美味,因为汤头是由大量的海鲜用慢火炖煮8小时。

Apart from that, we'd also ordered some delectable dishes to pair with the white rice. For example, Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychees, Deep-fried Tenggiri Fish, Stir-fried Kailan with Bean Curd Skin and Braised Pig Intestine.

除此之外,我们还点了一些其他的美味菜肴来配白米饭。 例如,莆田荔枝肉,酥炸马鲛鱼,芥兰豆皮和九转小肠。
